In collaboration with Juan Carlos Guevara, the Sauna Stone - Test Site exhibition book is designed to captivate the holistic research project Metamorphosis of a Sauna Stone. This book visually captivates and tells the story of the metamorphing process stones go though inside a sauna stove. It contains archival images of the Helsinki Public Sauna community, infographics about the lifecycle of the peridotite sauna stone, and process images of the material development. It acted as a source of documentation in the exhibition for the sauna bather to read and understand the history of the peridotite sauna stone whilst providing context for the artefacts that were on display.
This book, together with the exhibition and the material samples and objects, are the final result of Lennart Engels’ graduation project from Aalto University in Contemporary Design.
